Full-time·Darmstadt / Remote·Back-end · Front-end · Product · AI/ML

We are a small German AI lab researching human–agentic interaction. We build tools that let people and agents share a desk — predictable, observable and safe. We believe the future holds not one model but many — a swarm of intelligence.

Our research makes agentic work on sensitive, private data affordable, safe, and sustainable over long horizon tasks. We explore new thinking and reasoning techniques built for a world where the most valuable data can never leave the building.

We want people who build at the intersection of rigorous and unconventional. Engineers who care about scalable systems and why they matter. ML practitioners grounded in research foundations who want to ship. Product thinkers obsessed with what human–AI collaboration should feel like — not just what it can do.

This is a broad role. Depending on your strengths, you will work across:

  • Back-end (Python) — distributed systems, inference pipelines, data spine architecture
  • Front-end (React / Next.js) — agent UI, consent flows, real-time collaboration surfaces
  • Product — translating agentic interaction research into shipped features
  • AI / ML — reasoning techniques, pseudonymization, on-device model integration
  • Proven expertise in Back-end (Python) or Front-end (React) engineering — you have designed, built, and shipped scalable systems in real-world environments
  • Strong analytical thinking and first-principles problem-solving — you navigate ambiguous product and AI challenges with creativity and rigor
  • Experience in cross-functional product/ML teams — you translate human–AI interaction needs into thoughtful technical solutions
  • Demonstrated ownership and high ambition — you drive complex projects end-to-end, from concept to production
  • Commitment to mission alignment — you care about privacy, human agency, and building AI that works with people
  • A small, research-driven team where your work shapes the product directly
  • Hard engineering problems at the frontier of agentic AI
  • European infrastructure — GDPR-native, on-premise options, no data leaving the building
  • Flexibility on location — Darmstadt office or remote
  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity

Send your CV and a short note on where you would create the greatest impact to jobs@pirol.ai. No cover letter required — tell us what you have built and what you want to build next.
