These terms are a contract between you and Future Intelligence Ventures UG, Carlo-Mierendorff-Str. 79, D-64297 Darmstadt, Germany (“Pirol”, “we”). They cover everything we offer under the Pirol name: the website at pirol.ai, the Pirol API at api.pirol.ai, the console, the kyte program and its plugin for Claude, and team servers we host. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy, which is not part of these terms.
Your own terms and conditions do not apply, even if you refer to them, unless we accept them in writing.
Pirol is open to companies, professionals and private individuals. If you sign up on behalf of a company, you confirm that you are entitled to bind it; the company is then our contracting party. If you sign up as a private individual outside a trade or profession, you are a consumer and the consumer provisions in these terms apply to you, in particular the right of withdrawal in section 10.
Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself. API keys belong to your workspace: share them only within it, and revoke a key in the console if it may have leaked. You are responsible for what happens through your account and your workspace’s keys until you tell us something is wrong.
A workspace owner can invite members and is responsible for their use of the workspace. Removing a member ends their access at the next renewal of their session; keys they created stop working when their account is deleted or the keys are revoked.
You can delete your own account in the console at any time. Deletion removes workspaces in which you are the only member; what that takes with it is named on the page before you confirm.
Pirol API. One API and one key for AI models run by third-party providers. We route your requests, meter usage, and keep an audit trail for your workspace.
Console. Workspace, members, keys, usage and billing at pirol.ai.
kyte. A program on your computer and a plugin for Claude that work on your company workspace. kyte keeps an encrypted local copy of the workspace on your machine and syncs it with your team server.
Team server. Runs either on your own hardware (then only its software comes from us) or hosted by us on your behalf in German data centers.
Requests to the Pirol API are fulfilled by third-party model providers, currently including OpenAI and Anthropic. Their usage policies apply to your requests in addition to these terms, and a provider may refuse to process content that violates its policies. We may add, change or remove providers and models; we announce removals of named models in advance where we reasonably can.
If you store your own provider key in the console (“bring your own key”), requests using it run under your contract with that provider, and its costs are yours.
Output is generated by machine and not reviewed by us. It can be wrong, incomplete or biased, and the same prompt can give different answers. Check output before you rely on it or pass it on; you are responsible for how you use it. We claim no rights in your input or your output.
Your workspace content is yours. Where we host your team server, we process that data on your behalf as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR; a data processing agreement is available on request. kyte’s local copy lives on your own machines and never passes through us.
We do not use your workspace content, your prompts or your output to train models, and we do not sell them.
You agree not to:
— use the services for illegal content or activity;
— probe, overload or disrupt the services, or circumvent rate limits, metering or access controls;
— send malware, spam or deceptive content, or present AI output as a human or an official source where that misleads;
— resell the services or bundle them into your own product without a written agreement with us;
— use the services to build a directly competing model service by systematically extracting output.
If you violate these rules we may suspend the affected keys, workspace or account. Where the violation can be cured we warn you first; where it cannot — abuse, illegal content, danger to the services — we may suspend immediately.
Prices are shown on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed through our payment provider Stripe. Usage-based charges are calculated from our metering; our records are the basis of billing, and if you believe they are wrong, tell us and we will check them.
Price changes apply from the next billing period and are announced in advance. If you do not accept a price increase, you can cancel for the date it takes effect.
If a payment fails we remind you before we suspend. Suspension for non-payment does not delete your data.
If you are a consumer, you may withdraw from a paid contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving reasons. A clear statement to hello@pirol.ai within the period is enough; we will confirm receipt. A model withdrawal form is available from us on request.
If you ask us to start providing the service before the period ends — which you do when you start using a paid plan right away — and then withdraw, you owe us the share of the price that corresponds to what was provided until your withdrawal. The right of withdrawal expires once the service has been fully performed with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose the right upon full performance.
A trial includes a limited usage budget. When the budget is used up or the trial ends, the workspace moves to the plan you chose — or stops at the free plan’s limits if you chose none. The free plan has limits we may change, and we may close the free plan with reasonable notice; your data is not deleted by such a change.
If we give you a referral code, credits are granted as described where you received the code. Self-referrals and fabricated sign-ups earn nothing, and we may withhold credits obtained by abuse. We may change or end the programme for the future; credits already granted stay.
Features marked as beta, preview or waitlist are provided as they are, may change or disappear, and may have no support. Do not build anything critical on them.
For software we ship — the kyte program, its plugin for Claude, Pirol Local — you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for the services, for the term of the contract. Where a component carries an open-source licence (the Claude plugin is MIT-licensed), that licence prevails for that component.
The services, their software and the Pirol brand remain ours. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
We run the services with reasonable care, but self-serve plans carry no guaranteed uptime and no service level agreement. Maintenance can cause short interruptions; we schedule it considerately.
We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under product liability law. For simple negligence we are liable only for the breach of obligations whose fulfilment makes the contract possible in the first place and on which you may rely (cardinal obligations), and then only up to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Beyond that, liability is excluded — in particular for lost profits and for data you could have backed up with reasonable effort. This does not shift the burden of proof to your disadvantage.
Paid plans run for the billing period and renew until cancelled. You can cancel in the console at any time, effective at the end of the current period. Deleting your account ends the contract for workspaces that go with it.
We may terminate for good cause — serious or repeated violations of section 8, or non-payment after reminder — and otherwise with reasonable notice to the end of a billing period.
When the contract ends, keys stop working. For a hosted team server we keep your data available for export for 30 days after the end of the contract, then delete it; your kyte clients keep their local copies regardless of us.
The services evolve; we may change them as long as their core remains what you signed up for. We may also change these terms. For changes that matter we tell you by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and we name your options in that email: if you do not accept the change, you can cancel free of charge for the date it takes effect. If you keep using the services after that date, the changed terms apply. Changes never retroactively reduce what you have already paid for.
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not take away the protection of mandatory rules of the country you live in. For merchants, legal entities and public-law special funds, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Darmstadt, Germany — our registered seat; for consumers, the statutory venues apply.
We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
If a provision of these terms is invalid, the rest stays in force. These terms exist in English only.
